Yoga sessions at Peterborough United
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Peterborough United Foundation runs bi-weekly yoga sessions at community centres within their area, aimed at those suffering from long-term health conditions such as arthritis. The yoga sessions are a way to increase activity levels among this population group, improving physical fitness whilst simultaneously creating new social connections, allowing individuals to feel part of a community and avoid isolation, which becomes more common in older age groups. The choice of yoga as the activity has many benefits- it increases wellbeing through improved sleep, better body awareness, weight loss, and greater happiness.
