Swim Safe open water safety sessions
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Swim Safe is a free water safety programme for children aged 7 to 14, created by Swim England and the RNLI and delivered with Swim Wales and local partners at more than 30 coastal and inland open water sites across the UK each summer (May to September). Children who can swim 25 metres unaided take part in a 60-minute session run by qualified lifeguards and instructors, combining land-based water safety advice with up to 30 minutes of in-water tuition, with wetsuits, swimming hats and swimming aids provided. Sessions are free and bookable online, and each child receives a Swim Safe swimming hat and badge. Feedback and enquiries can be sent to the programme team at swimsafe@swimming.org.
