GameChangers Southwark (Millwall Community Trust)
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
GameChangers Southwark is a Millwall Community Trust programme in areas of Southwark where young people have fewer opportunities to access positive, developmental pathways. It aims to increase their resilience and reduce the risk of involvement in crime. The project combines football with detached youth work and a youth inclusion approach, engaging boys, girls, parents, carers and local volunteers to use and re-invigorate public spaces and facilities. It links young people to the wider GameChangers programme, with pathways to coaching qualifications, community volunteering and routes into employment. The areas were chosen through consultation with young people and with the police, youth offending, community safety and the Violence Reduction Unit.
