About the Role
Together Active is recruiting four Community Activators to work alongside communities across East Staffordshire, primarily in Burton-upon-Trent and Uttoxeter, as part of a Sport England-funded Place-Based programme. Each role is hosted by a different local organisation, giving the postholder the chance to build strong connections within the communities that organisation supports and contribute to the next stage of the work. All four Community Activators will be employed by Together Active but seconded to one of four host organisations for the duration of the contract.
What You'll Do
Work with local people and communities across Burton-upon-Trent and Uttoxeter to understand what matters to them and support more people to be active
Spend time in communities, listening to people's experiences and ideas, and exploring the barriers that can make being active more difficult
Help support small changes and activities that can make a difference to people's health and wellbeing
Gather and share community insight, and build relationships with local organisations and partners
Support the wider Place Partnership to understand what is working, what is getting in the way, and what could be done differently
Shape day-to-day work around what's learned from local people and the host organisation, while working alongside the other Community Activators as a supportive group

Practical Details
Salary: £28,000 per year
Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week
Contract: Temporary, 18 months (seconded from Together Active to one of four host organisations)
Location: Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire (on-site)
