About the Role
Together Active is looking for an experienced, supportive and emotionally intelligent Chair to lead its Board through a period of renewal. The Chair will strengthen the Board, oversee the recruitment of a new Chief Executive and help prepare the charity for its next Sport England investment period.
The role is voluntary (with reasonable expenses paid), needs about one day a month, and runs for a three-year term with the option of reappointment. Board meetings are in Stafford or Stoke-on-Trent, with virtual options.
What You'll Do
Governance and oversight
- Provide strategic leadership and governance oversight during a period of organisational development
- Oversee strategy, performance, finances, risk and safeguarding
- Support compliance with the Charity Governance Code and the Sports Governance Code
Board and CEO
- Strengthen the Board's effectiveness
- Lead the recruitment of the Chief Executive and support the interim and incoming CEO
- Help prepare for the next Sport England investment period
Representation
- Represent Together Active to local government, health, sport and community partners
