About the Role
As the key contact for Sported groups across Lancaster and surrounding areas, the Network Coordinator will play a vital role in helping community-led organisations grow, become more sustainable and maximise their impact. The role sits within Sported's Field Team and involves welcoming new groups to the network and supporting existing ones to develop. This is a place-based role — the postholder must live in Lancaster or the surrounding area, with frequent travel across the region.
What You'll Do
Build effective relationships with Sported member groups, understanding their challenges and opportunities and connecting them to the support, resources and funding they need to thrive
Welcome new groups to the network and support existing ones to develop
Work closely with colleagues, volunteer consultants and partners to help deliver projects and programmes that strengthen groups and create positive outcomes for people and communities
Contribute to volunteer engagement, partnership development, grant administration and project evaluation
Ensure accurate records and data are maintained across the area
What They're Looking For
Passion for the power of sport to strengthen communities and change lives
Enthusiasm for supporting grassroots organisations — sport-sector background welcomed but not required
Commitment to inclusion, equality and positive social change
Confident relationship-builder with a proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to build trust with a wide range of people
Organised, able to manage competing priorities, and comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative remote team
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and experience of database management
Practical Details
Salary: £27,318–£32,000 per year, dependent on experience (pro rata)
Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week
Contract: Fixed-term until December 2029 (extension subject to funding)
Location: Home-based — must live in Lancaster or surrounding areas, with frequent travel across the region
