About the Role
Reporting to: Sustainability, Impact & Legacy Lead
The purpose of the role is to coordinate and deliver programmes that use the power of football as a catalyst for positive change, maximising the positive impact of the tournament before, during, and beyond 2028.
What You'll Do
Impact & Legacy Planning
Lead the development and delivery of Scotland's EURO 2028 Inclusion in Football programme, ensuring alignment with Scottish FA priorities, Scottish Government National Plan outcomes, and UK&I EURO 2028 legacy objectives
Identify and develop opportunities that maximise the positive impact of the tournament across communities throughout Scotland
Support the delivery of football-led initiatives that increase participation, improve community wellbeing, and create long-term benefits for clubs, local communities, and individuals
Use evidence, insight, and stakeholder feedback to inform programme design and continuous improvement
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with partners to align priorities, influence decision-making, and maximise the contribution of partner organisations towards Inclusion in Football outcomes
Act as the Scottish FA's lead representative for social impact and legacy partnerships, identifying and developing joint delivery opportunities that contribute to shared outcomes across Scotland
Work proactively and collaboratively with other EURO 2028 social impact partners to ensure a joined-up approach
Identify, develop, and secure additional investment, resources, and partnerships that enhance programme delivery and long-term sustainability
Build strong collaborative relationships across Scottish FA departments to ensure effective planning, communication, and delivery
Project Management
Develop detailed implementation plans and delivery frameworks for projects
Coordinate programme governance, risk management, reporting, and budget management and monitoring, ensuring resources are used to maximise impact and leverage additional investment where possible
Manage project timelines and ensure key milestones are achieved
Lead, support, and develop staff, interns, and volunteers, creating a collaborative and high-performing team culture
Oversee delivery partners and funded projects to ensure objectives, quality standards, and impact targets are achieved
Impact, Evaluation & Learning
Embed robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning across Inclusion in Football programmes, producing compelling evidence of impact on communities across Scotland
Measure and report against agreed outcomes, KPIs, and success indicators
Identify opportunities to scale successful initiatives and create sustainable delivery models beyond the tournament
Communications
Work with communications and marketing colleagues and social impact partner organisations to capture and promote the positive impact of EURO 2028
Develop compelling stories, case studies, and campaign content that demonstrate how football is creating positive change
Other Duties
Carry out any other duties as reasonably required by the Head of Special Projects
What They're Looking For
Essential
Experience in supporting the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-stakeholder programmes (sport, community development, public sector)
Proven track record of establishing, developing, and maintaining effective partnerships across government, local authorities, community organisations, sport, and other sectors
Experience leading steering groups or working parties
Experience in leading, managing, and developing projects
Educated at degree level or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present complex information clearly
Strategic thinker with strong negotiation and partnership development skills
Capability to implement systems and processes for new operations
Strong competence in Microsoft Applications
Ability to mentor, train, and develop people
Excellent communicator; able to engage with internal and external stakeholders
Collaborative, supportive, and solution-focused
Demonstrates Scottish FA organisational values
