About the Role
Newcastle United Foundation is looking for a Football Development Coordinator to help grow its Football Development department. The role focuses on delivering high-quality participation programmes for boys and girls, supporting the coaching team and finding new ways to reach more of the community.
The role is full time (35 hours a week, with some evenings and weekends), based in Newcastle (NE4) with travel across the North East. It reports to the Senior Inclusive Football Coordinator.
What You'll Do
Programme delivery
- Plan and deliver structured coaching for participation programmes
- Lead delivery of programmes including Boys Advanced, Holiday Courses and Little Magpies
- Keep standards high using the Foundation's quality assurance framework
- Act as lead coach at venues when needed
Growth and targets
- Hit agreed income and participation targets
- Develop new partners, venues and centres
- Gather feedback from participants to improve delivery
Supporting the team
- Line manage coaching staff where needed
- Observe sessions and give constructive feedback
- Find and arrange development opportunities for coaches
- Support Holiday Football Courses
Safeguarding and standards
- Make sure children, staff, volunteers and the public are safeguarded
- Manage programme risks in line with Foundation policies
- Deliver strong customer service
- Share success stories with the Communications team
What They're Looking For
Essential
- FA Level 2 (UEFA C) and FA Level 3 (UEFA B) coaching qualifications
- A current Emergency First Aid award and a safeguarding award
- Experience of developing community football programmes and player pathways
- Experience of observing coaches and giving feedback
- Experience of monitoring, evaluating and recording work
- Strong knowledge of long-term player development
- Good IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication, and the ability to motivate and inspire
- A passion for community football and an understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion
Desirable
- A sports-related degree
- Line management experience
- Membership of the FA Licensed Coaches' Club
- Business development knowledge
- Access to your own transport

Salary: £27,424.14
