About the Organisation
Falkirk Football Community Foundation is a registered charity serving Falkirk supporters and the wider community. Its work covers mental health and wellbeing, physical health and wellbeing, education and employability, and football activity, working with local partners to connect people with support and opportunities.
About the Role
Following the Foundation's successful application to the Whole Family Support Third Sector Delivery Fund, it is recruiting a Family Support Coach to help establish Centre Circle in Falkirk. This five-charity partnership provides practical, financial and wellbeing support. The postholder will help shape the local service, using the Foundation's community connections and families' feedback.
The role involves working alongside families experiencing poverty, disadvantage, isolation or other challenges, including those who may feel unsure about approaching services. By building trust and following through on practical problems, the coach will help parents, carers and children identify what matters to them and shape support around their priorities.
The anticipated active caseload is approximately 50 families, with different levels of support according to need — some needing practical guidance or supported referrals, others more sustained or intensive help. Priorities, risk and workload are reviewed with the Project Lead through supervision.
This is a family support role, not a football coaching role — no football coaching experience is required.
What success looks like: Families access help earlier, make progress towards their own goals and feel more confident using support. Success may mean resolving a practical problem, building trust or taking a first step towards longer-term change, reviewed with families and used to improve the service.

Assess needs with families, agree goals and develop individual family support plans that build on their strengths

Recognise when specialist help is needed, make supported introductions and follow up referrals so families can access the help agreed with them
Review progress with families against agreed goals, adapting support plans to reflect their priorities and changing needs
Community engagement and partnership working
Undertake outreach to engage families who may not currently access formal support
Help families access Foundation programmes, activities and wider community opportunities
Work with schools, social work, health services, community organisations and other partners to coordinate support

Maintain accurate, timely and secure records of contacts, assessments, support, referrals and outcomes; share information appropriately in line with confidentiality and data protection requirements

Follow Foundation policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, equality and professional conduct; use approved communication and record-keeping systems
